**DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a talented **Functional Safety Manager** to join our team specializing in **Engineering** for our **Product Safety department** in **Milton Keynes, Precedent House, United Kingdom.**
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:**
+ Central Coordination: You'll be the key point of coordination between various teams, ensuring seamless integration and communication across product engineers, customer teams, suppliers, and manufacturing.
+ Quality Decision Making: By obtaining input from diverse stakeholders, you'll deliver recommendations that lead to high-quality product decisions, enhancing the overall product lifecycle.
+ Technical Expertise: Your systems knowledge and expertise will drive decisions in technology integration, design, analysis, and experimental test verification, impacting product form and functionality.
+ Process Improvement: You'll create, manage, and improve processes like ESW, iDFMEA, and FIRG, using specialized tools to support these processes and enable high-quality decision-making.
+ Problem Resolution: Leading problem resolution for complex systems with significant ambiguity and global impact, you'll ensure issues are addressed effectively and efficiently.
+ Work Process Leadership: You'll lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across functions within a global business unit, driving continuous improvement.
+ Team Coordination: By coordinating and directing technical project teams, you'll manage and guide small to mid-sized teams, ensuring project goals are met.
+ Mentorship and Talent Development: As a recognized specialist, you'll coach and mentor other engineers, project managers, and cross-functional team members, fostering talent development and collaboration.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:**
+ Expertise in Product Failure Mode Avoidance: Ability to identify and mitigate potential product failure modes by analyzing interfaces, functions, and interactions to improve product reliability.
+ Proficiency in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis: Utilize computational tools to predict and analyze product capabilities, impacting design decisions at various system levels.
+ Strong Interface Management Skills: Identify and manage interfaces and interactions across system boundaries, ensuring products meet requirements and remain within specified limits.
+ Functional Safety Management Experience: Familiarity with ISO 26262 and experience in coordinating safety plans, aligning cross-functional team efforts, and managing product development teams to ensure compliance and high-quality outcomes.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education/Experience:**
+ The candidate will act as a Functional Safety Manager for the Accelera Business. In this regard, a familiarity with the principles of developing automotive products to the requirements of ISO 26262 is essential.
+ The candidate will be a co-ordinator of the safety plan, aligning the expectations, procedures, and results required from the cross-functional teams which contribute to the functional safety workstream of the supported programs.
+ Prior experience in the management of product development teams is required. The Functional Safety Manager will allocate tasks, align schedules and resources to ensure timely and high-quality completion of the activities relating to compliance with ISO 26262.
