Purpose of Role: Responsible for melting steel to a molten bath, must be familiar with the equipment used in maintaining or repairing the refractory lining of the furnace and with the furnace refractory requirements, and will use this equipment to maintain the refractory coating on the inside of the furnace at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure work area is clean and free of any hazards 

Tapping on pitch and updating pitch boards

Data collection, have a good work ethic, have a good attendance record, Maintain a positive attitude in the workplace at all times

Participate in lean initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Kaizen)

Perform other duties as directed by company

Job Knowledge/ Education and Qualifications:

Education in associate degree or High School diploma/GED

1+ years of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting

Forklift experience preferred, but not required and must be willing to work in hot environment

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
