British Swim School is a nationwide provider of survival and stroke development swim lessons with an enhanced focus on a gentle, fun, and progressive aquatics program. We are looking for fun-loving individuals to join our award-winning team of swim instructorsin the Northern East Bay Area.
Our mission is to prevent accidental drownings by teaching children and adults, in a fun way, how to swim and enjoy the water safely.
British Swim School has been teaching swim lessons via our signature method for 40 years. We are confident we can train anyone on how to teach our curriculum - as long as they enjoy the water and have a passion for child development and helping children to make progress and succeed.
What else is there to know?
+ You need to be a“swimmer”. Ideally, you have an understanding of all four strokes and an overall appreciation for the water
+ You've got tolove working with children and seeing them progress
+ You need to beupbeat and ready to enjoy having fun at work. Having fun is mandatory!
+ This is ayear-round indoor position, and we are looking for longer-term employees.
+ Be able to workweekend morningsfrom 8:45 am-1:30 pm
+ Be able to workweekdaysfrom 2:45 pm-7:30 pm
+ You need to be able to reliably commute to our pool location inRichmond.

+ Pay starts at$18.00/hr

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
