The Admissions Call Center Representative will be responsible for fielding a series of admissions inquiries from prospective students, parents, and counselors on The New School Admissions phone line. The Admissions Call Center Representative will help triage communication across departments and convey information regarding application instructions, admission events registration, deadlines, campus updates, program information, and general inquiries. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of the role.
The role of an Admission student call agent is to act as a partner between staff and students throughout the admission process. Student Representatives are expected to be proactive with a friendly and professional attitude and answer general Level 1 admission-application enrollment inquiries that focus on gathering and recalling information.
Student worker(s) will perform professional duties and have responsibilities that require knowledge of admission regarding the university and high levels of accuracy. The ideal candidate will be able to practice comprehensive decision-making skills, be able to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively in a remote setting. This position would work under the supervision of the Senior Office Assistant and carry out well-established procedures and existing policies.

Responsibilities: Answer incoming calls and triaging communication to appropriate staff/departments Assist callers in navigating The New School website, application processes, and event registration Manage inquiries with enthusiasm for The New School, a positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent customer service Effectively and strategically utilize New School remote communication technologies
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Work Mode: Hybrid/Remote – Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions. Minimum Qualifications: Only students with a Federal Work-Study award will be considered at this time Minimum one-year office experience Understanding of The New School programs and admission procedures. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to work a minimum of 6-10 hours per week This position requires reliable access to a computer/laptop and internet Available to work 1-2 of the following shifts: Mondays: 12-2, 1-5pm Wednesdays: 10am-2pm Tuesdays: 10am-2pm Thursdays: 10am-2pm Preferred Qualifications: Job Family: Admissions Posting Date: 08/22/2025 Closing Date: 09/20/2025 Open Until Filled No Supplemental Questions
