East West Bank is seeking a FX Trader to manage client flows, execute trades, and oversee the bank’s FX exposure. This role focuses on pricing spot and FX derivatives. The trader will be responsible for reconciling books, monitoring outstanding orders, advising on hedging strategies, and supporting sales with market insights and rate forecasts, all while staying current with market trends and ensuring operational accuracy.
Responsibilities Execute and quote trades across FX products, including spot, forwards, swaps, options, and non-deliverable forwards (NDFs). Manage the bank’s FX positions, cash flow, and Nostro account balances while advising FX Advisors and sales teams on strategies and forecasts. Prepare market research, analysis, and updates for internal teams and clients, delivering relevant insights based on the latest developments. Stay informed about market trends to ensure optimal FX strategies and effective decision-making. Reconcile books and ensure accurate trade records to meet compliance and operational standards. Monitor outstanding orders for accuracy, compliance, and proper record-keeping. Collaborate with the sales department to respond to FX inquiries and support foreign exchange operations. Maintain interbank relationships and leverage market knowledge to optimize day-to-day trading operations. Participate in special projects and adapt to the evolving market environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. 1+ years of FX-related experience in banking preferred. Strong proficiency in Excel to support analysis, reporting, and trade management. Strong research, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with programming languages such as C, VBA, or Python is a plus.
