FY26: Instructional Specialist, Title I, Central Office, 1.0 FTE

Summary Description:
Under direction implements Title I guidelines of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA Act), especially as it relates to the school improvement processes, evidence based strategies, staff certification requirements, professional development, schoolwide programs, , family involvement, fiscal guidance, and technical assistance; works with schoolwide programs to plan and implement a comprehensive school improvement process including extended day and year programs; supports schools in the design and delivery of evidence-based and research-based instructional practices; assists school personnel in assessment, data collection, and analysis of formal and informal data for use in targeting and monitoring the effectiveness of academic supports, including interventions, enrichment, and acceleration; collaborates in the development and delivery of personalized family involvement policies and training designed to support individual student achievement.Physical Demands:As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job.Special Requirements:Occasional evening work to meet deadlines or to attend Board of Education, committee, PTSA, or other meetings,

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Ability to analyze student achievement data for instructional decision making. Knowledge of current research and trends in education, with special emphasis on English Learners, well-rounded curricula, instruction, and training. Knowledge of ESSA, particularly Title I, Part A. Ability to work effectively with classroom teachers, principals, and parent organizations in providing rigorous academic experiences for students. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Education Training Experience:
Masters from accredited college or university with course work in curriculum development and instruction. Five years or more experience teaching a diverse elementary student population. Two or more years experience in planning and implementing professional development experiences for school-based staff and making presentations to supervisors and community members. Experience as a member of a School Improvement planning team. Applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position, may be considered.Certificate License:ESSA certification for teacher required; Qualified for administration supervisory certification preferred.
