GA Maintenance Mechanical Sr. Engineer

The Maintenance Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment within the General Assembly (GA) line. This role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to support production efficiency and minimize downtime. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on GA mechanical equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize production interruptions. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures in alignment with OEM standards. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Support installation and commissioning of new equipment in the GA line. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. Train and guide maintenance technicians on mechanical systems and best practices. Collect and analyze maintenance data to identify trends, improve processes, and reduce downtime. Adjust work schedules to meet production requirements. Perform other tasks as assigned, permanent or temporary, to support efficiency in operations. Generate proper reports and associated corrective measures on all incidents to proactively decrease the potential of future failures. Be familiar with alignment techniques for shafts, conveyors, and various other equipment. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearbox, valves, and all mechanical components in automotive assembly lines. Proficient in reading technical drawings and equipment manuals. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Good communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. Able to use SolidWorks/CAD. Capable of performing repetitive tasks, standing for long periods, and handling physical components. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the automotive industry, preferably in General Assembly. Hands-on experience with GA equipment such as conveyors, torque tools, lifters, and robotic systems. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles is a plus. Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
