A Gardener is responsible for providing general gardening care and grounds maintenance involving trees, lawns, turf, shrubs, hedges, ground cover, flowers and athletic fields.  Work will include both routine work and special assignments to support a government contract.   

DUTIES: 

Primary duties will consist of mowing, trimming, edging, fertilization, pruning, debris and weed removal, tree staking, berm maintenance and limb removal  Will maintain improved and semi-improved grounds  Build and maintain irrigation systems to include valves, vacuum breakers, backflow preventers, pressure regulators, irrigation connections, sprinkler heads, bubblers, risers, heads, underground piping, controls, irrigation time clocks and other water emitting devices  Operating motorized equipment such as tractors, weed eaters, chain saws, etc. as required  May be required to drive to outlying areas  Other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor
