Garment Associate - 2nd Shift
JOB SUMMARY: The Garments Associate is responsible for trimming excess fabric and loose threads from garments and headwear after they are embroidered. This position is also responsible for steaming and folding garments to be placed in bags.  This position is also responsible for ensuring quality and on-time delivery.  SCHEDULE: + 3:30 pm – 12:00 am Monday – Friday with Overtime (during the week) as required LOCATION: + New Bedford Industrial Park - 270 Samuel Barnet Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745 BENEFITS + Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance after a 30 day waiting period. + 401 (k) – Participation and company match after 30 day waiting period. + Free and other voluntary insurance plans at discounted rates. + Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays + Employee membership & discounts. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: + Trim and inspect garments and headwear. + Trim an average of 35 dozen items daily. + Steam and inspect garments. + Inspect and sort rejects. + Create T-shirt/cap combos. Tie the cap and garment together with a cloth tie. + Additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: + Ability to follow verbal directions. + Ability to read instructions in English. + Ability to perform basic math. + Understand quality requirements. + Ability to solve problems. + Ability to work in a team environment. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + High school diploma or GED preferred + Manufacturing experience preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: + Ability to stand for the duration of scheduled shift. + Ability to sit for extended periods. + Repetitive use of hands, fingers, and arms to handle, push/pull, touch, pinch, or grasp. + Ability to walk about the facility. + Ability to climb, bend, reach, kneel, and crouch. + Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
