The Position Proposition:Q3 Contracting is seeking an experienced Gas Master Technician to support Xcel Energy Utilities across various territories in Wisconsin, including Ashland, Eau Claire, Menomonie, and additional regions served by Xcel Energy. In this role, the Gas Master Technician will focus on troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with safety standards, providing customer consultations, and generating detailed service field reports.
This position offers competitive pay and provides opportunities to work across diverse locations in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of gas systems and will excel in problem-solving, field assessments, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Travel within Wisconsin, including Ashland, Eau Claire, Menomonie, and other regions where Xcel Energy provides services. Troubleshoot and diagnose gas system issues to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Xcel Energy’s infrastructure. Ensure gas systems and operations meet all compliance standards, regulations, and safety protocols set by Xcel Energy. Provide consultation to customers on gas-related matters, offering expert advice to ensure safety and efficiency. Generate detailed and accurate service field reports, documenting inspections, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions. Conduct inspections of gas systems and infrastructure to assess performance, identify potential issues, and ensure operational integrity. Work closely with Xcel Energy personnel and other contractors to maintain consistent service quality and safety standards. Respond to customer inquiries and assist in problem resolution, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Gas Master Technician certification or equivalent, with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience. Proven experience in troubleshooting gas systems, identifying issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and professional manner. Familiarity with Xcel Energy’s gas system standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Willingness and ability to travel within Wisconsin, including remote and rural areas. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel using a company vehicle or personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement). Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for customer consultations or troubleshooting emergencies.Q3 Contracting is a drug-free environment and all candidates are subject to drug testing.
