Position summary: This position will involve working in our Natural Gas System Safety team providing professional services to our natural gas utility operations in multiple states. Review PHMSA regulations, industry standards, and develops procedures to follow regulations. Supports Gas Engineering Standards Committee to develop standards and maintains appropriate record keeping and O&M Manual updates. Develops procedures and work practices. Pay Range:This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Level I:$69,350 - $104,000 / Grade 13 Level II:$82,550 - $123,800 / Grade 15 Senior: $92,500 - $152,450 / Grade 17 Reporting Relationship:Design & Materials Manager Location:Council Bluffs, Iowa or Fayetteville, Arkansas Relocation Assistance:Relocation assistance is available based on individual circumstances! Essential Functions: • Maintains sections of the Gas Operations and Maintenance manual, the Gas Operating Standards manual, the Gas Material Standards manual, and the Gas Emergency Plan manual. • Participate in committees to get SME feedback on O&M manual changes and updates. • Provides support for document changes initiated outside of the standards team and works those changes into the process for review and publishing. • Be familiar with 49 CFR 192, API 1104, API 1173 and API 1107. • Supports action items associated with Gas Operations and Maintenance manual updates resulting from incident investigations, safety events, and lessons learned. • Be familiar with ASME B31.8 and other related ASME standards related to pipeline and facility design and specification. • Provides day to day technical support and problem solving to operations personnel, advises on standards, pipeline safety laws and provides research on a wide variety of technical topics. • Responsible for providing technical expertise in regulatory matters and audits relating to procedures and documented processes. Additional Responsibilities: • Be familiar with trends related to the materials in gas distribution network piping. Including participation in national and regional organizations, (AGA, NACE, MEA…etc.) • Assists in providing professional services elsewhere in the company’s energy business, as requested. • Works with interested parties and SME’s to get feedback and identify standard processes for operating procedures and manual updates. What You'll Need: Level I: • Bachelor's Degree Engineering from ABET accredited university, Environmental service, or Safety or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience • No experience required. Training provided. Level II: • Bachelor's Degree Engineering from ABET accredited university, Environmental service, or Safety or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum of (1) one year of gas industry experience. Senior: • Bachelor's Degree Engineering from ABET accredited university, Environmental service, or Safety or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum of (4) four years of gas industry experience. What Is Desired Or Can Be Taught: • Strong interpersonal and communications skills. • Effective presentation, facilitation, and training skills. • Familiar with pipe design code standards and material specifications • Strong writing and editing skills. • Ability to thoroughly document analytical work. • Background knowledge in Microsoft 365 platform including TEAMS. • Knowledge in file management systems such as FileNet or SharePoint. • Knowledge of plant operations, Construction Planning, or Inspection.
