**Job Summary** Provide technical advice, assistance, and training necessary for designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining pipelines, measurement, regulation, and related equipment.  Provide detailed designs, estimates, and construction drawings for pipelines, measurement, regulation and related equipment. Collaborate with peers across NiSource and the industry to ensure effective technical solutions. Maintain strong communications and working relationships with various operating, engineering, and staff departments in an effort to provide needed technical support and direction. Strong employee relations and communications within the department Highly effective team that achieves results while expanding capabilities Strong relationships and collaboration between NiSource peer groups Strong technical knowledge in measurement, pressure regulation, filtration, odorization, heaters, and transmission pipeline design Understanding of construction practices and requirements in preparing construction drawings Well-designed capital and O&M projects Reliable and efficient technical support to local engineering and operations departments Effective, knowledgeable, and safety conscious personnel Safe, reliable design of the company's gas facilities Compliance with operating company, state, and federal regulations **Essential Functions** + Design small scale pipeline, measurement and regulation facilities in conformance with Company Standards, industry standards, and federal codes + Responsible for managing total capital project costs in the millions, with specific equipment installations owned by this role up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. + Specify material and prepare material quotes for measurement, regulation and transmission facilities. + Field visits to assess site conditions and provide technical guidance as part of the project design + Provide technical assistance to local engineering and operations personnel during and after normal work hours, as required + Promotes the necessary environment for effective customer satisfaction + Maintain customer-focused working relationships with Engineering and Operations, actively seeking and incorporating feedback from stakeholders related to job performance and support. + Implements value-added technology, tools, and planning techniques to improve process and design results + Assists with development of policies and procedures and the evaluation of material and equipment + Participate in special assignments developing studies related to cost, facility design, work load, time studies, environmental concerns, facility failures, class location requirements, etc. + Align individual objectives with department goals and projects to ensure that corporate needs and objectives are met. + Attend training and conferences related to functions performed by the department + Maintain awareness of decisions which impact capital and O&M budgets; recommend options and best alternatives.
