Job OverviewThe Gate Repair Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of gates and key fob access panels. This role requires technical skills in diagnosing mechanical and electronic issues, as well as providing timely solutions to ensure the proper functionality of the gate and access control systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong troubleshooting abilities and excellent customer service skills.
Roles You Will PlayRepair:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in gate systems including openers, springs, cables and rollers.Ensure all components function correctly, adjusting and recalibrating as needed.Install and configure access control systems including card readers, key fob panels, biometric systems, and door locking mechanisms.Integrate access control systems with other security solutions, such as CCTV and alarm systems, as needed.Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure all gates and access control systems are functioning optimally.Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues related to access control panels, card readers, and associated systems.Replace or upgrade gate and access control components such as closers, actuators, motors, drives, readers, controllers, and power supplies as needed.Technical Support:
Provide technical support to residents, property management, and maintenance teams.Train property staff on the use and basic troubleshooting of gate and access control equipment and systems.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate service records, detailing work performed, parts replaced, and any other relevant information.Schedule preventative maintenance for all property gate systems.Report any recurring issues or potential system upgrades to management.Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to safety protocols during installations and repairs.Ensure compliance with local and national building codes, electrical regulations, and other relevant standards.Perform risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
