We have an exciting opportunity for a Gateway HALO Spacecraft Software Engineer to join the team with our Engineering Division.\n

To fulfill this critical Gateway Halo Spacecraft Software Engineering role, you will need expertise in all aspects of the Human Rated software development life cycle, including:\n\nSoftware Management and Oversight\nSoftware release planning and estimation\nSoftware testing and verification\nReview lower-level software testing and verification\nSoftware Process Assessments (including Compliance assessments) across the full development life cycle\nPerform software product assessment for completeness of design and implementation throughout the full software development lifecycle\nEnsure NASA requirements are satisfied by design solutions and support production\/control board meetings, design and system reviews\nSupport the development of CDR and manufacturing readiness review products and participate in module system reviews\nInterface with NASA and spacecraft system engineering teams\nSubsystem Software insight and oversight\nProvide engineering insight and oversight support for the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) prime contractor on assigned subsystem or subsystems.\nCoordinate with the Gateway Subsystem Management team on programmatic requirement change requests, design review support, interface definition and control, verification integration, and provide status on high level development progress and issues\nMonitor system integration, interface management and coordination\nDemonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills\nMaintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors\nWork in a fast-paced, Agile environment\nPerform other duties as required\n\nQualifications\n

Technical(General)\n\nExperience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria\nExperience in risk assessment and implementation of risk reducing measures\nExperience leading a software development project across the full development life cycle\n\n

Technical (Avionics & Software)\n\nExperience developing software across the full development life cycle Safety Critical Human-Rated Software Development\nHuman Rated Mature Software Processes\nData driven software systems and applications\nSoftware Testing and Verification (including Independent V&V)\nWriting\/reviewing test and verification definitions\nAvionics C&DH (Command and Data Handling)\nReal Time Operating Systems (RTOS)\nAutonomous Systems\n\n

Professional\n\nProficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Skype, SharePoint, Jira\nExperience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop avionic systems\nExcellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude\nExperience fostering a collaborative team environment\nMust be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision\nFostering and working in a collaborative team environment\nEffectively communicate across a wide range of technical disciplines, with vendors\/contractors, direct customers and upper management\nAbility to prepare written documents\/presentations and to verbally present at various meetings\n\n

Requisition Preferences: \n\nKnowledge of systems engineering principles and associated documentation\nKnowledge of commonly used NASA concepts, practices, processes and procedures relating to mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools\nKnowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software, specifically for the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO)\nExperience with Core Flight System (cFS) Applications (or similar flight software framework)\nExperience with Time Triggered Ethernet (or similar protocols such as ARINC 664)\nExperience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop avionic systems\nFault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) for Distributed Avionics Architectures\nCapability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)\n\n

Familiarity with: \n\nSoftware project management experience\nSafety Critical Human-Rated Software Development Processes\nNASA software and systems development standards (incl NPR 7150.2)\nNASA\/JSC documentation databases as well as typical systems engineering products\nNASA\/JSC engineering processes\nObject oriented software development\nAgile software development\nC\/C++ coding\nLinux scripting languages such as Python\nARINC 664, 653, SAE AS6802 or RTC DO178\nData Validation\nCode Review\nUnit Testing\nAlgorithm Design Document\nRun for Record test and results\n
