JOB DESCRIPTION
The Site HR Leader provides strategic direction & operational oversight to all aspects of HR across GBS India hub while aligning to global operating model of HR functions globally. The Site HR leader also brings subject matter expertise in all matters including Talent Acquisition, Organization Development, Policies, Compensation and Banding, Operations & Employee Engagement with contextual inputs for a GBS/GCC operation in India. The Site HR Leader also acts as the brand ambassador for Barry Callebaut (BC) in the GBS/GCC circles as the company seeks to establish itself as an employer of choice, in the local talent marketplace.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
HR Partnership with GBS India Head, Functional Tower Leads & Site Operations Leads Partner with local leaders to facilitate local management in empowering people activities in effective and consistent way. Provide professional advice to support strategic decision of the GBS Hub based on the interpretation of HR data analytics, policies and procedures, employment legislation, capability building, recruitment strategies, managing change processes, providing risk analysis and GBS Market insights Responsible for manpower planning and budgeting, and engagement program in partnership with GBS Head and Line Function Heads in collaboration with Country HR HeadHR Support for Global Line Functions Form strong relationships with the management team to be able to challenge and coach in a high-performance environment Actively identify, mediate and solve existing problem/complaint from local team, manage engagement programs, maintain employee database (including headcount monitoring & database management) to support smooth operations at the GBS hub Participate by joining the department meetings in the GBS environment and another related programs Ensure suppliers services under HR scope follow company and government policy
Operations Partner with key stakeholders to ensure compliance by participating in audits and related programs Support local management with regards to employment pass, internal or external audit, local or global operational reporting and 3rd party management related to HR services Manage internal communication at GBS India
HR Cycle Activities Perform, monitor and evaluate HR Cycle activities for GBS team based in India to ensure the compliance & alignment of global policy, need and priority. This is including but not limited to recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, organizational development, career management, performance appraisal, talent & salary review, compensation & benefit, exit procedure and retirement program. Create, update and monitor the local HR policies (including HR related matters in PeopleDoc, SOP, work instruction) to ensure the alignment with corporate and government policies Liaise and support global project where relevant
Compliance Establish proactive HR compliance & risk management framework Provide accurate labor report to government, maintain a good relationship with employees and act as the corporate representative in the public/government agendas Responsible for managing industrial relations matters for GBS Location Be well versed with HR legislation and related market trends Build relationship with surrounding community Site Initiatives / Branding Act as a co-sponsor for site initiatives such as DEI, CSR, employee engagement Accountable for local rollout of initiatives designed by GBS HR functions, globally Support the design and rollout Industry, Academia & Start-up connects Participate in surveys & forums that promote brand building Develop and execute strategy for “passive workforce” engagement
Social connect and Professional networking Be the BC representative in the local / national GBS/GCC Forums including professional memberships with Nasscom Build relationship with surrounding community and adhere to Corporate Social Responsibility Act of Govt of India and related activities and submissions. Be responsible for committees such as POSH, Grievance Redressal and Suggestion boxes.
EDUCATION, LANGUAGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or PG in Human Resources is preferred Well versed with local Labor Laws such as Employment Act and Industrial Relation Act; Strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, ability to drive continuous improvement; Planning, priority setting, problem solving and monitoring skills; Fluent in English, exposure to Hindi and Telugu is an added advantage Familiar with HRIS/Success Factors Travel requirements: 20% Ability to work in a hybrid model Ability to work in an international model on a global scale Role will be pivotal to scale GBS India Hub location as well as to support the execution of overall GBS strategy across other GBS locations
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL OR FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
A minimum of 15-18 years across diverse areas of HR function is required Experience in a GBS/GCC environment is mandatory Experience managing teams of 10-15 HR practitioners is preferred Senior stakeholder engagement exposure is necessary Demonstrated experience in managing external service providers (RPO, search agencies) Experience in establishing a GBS/ GCC center is considered an added advantage Prior work experience with multi-national companies with distributed global workforce is required Strong understanding in the whole HR cycle activities (recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, organizational development, career management, performance appraisal, talent & salary review, compensation & benefit, exit procedure and retirement program); Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations; Deep understanding of organizational and individual development; Familiar with engagement, diversity & inclusion program; Strong knowledge of external employment and development trends, labor markets and competitors; Provide thought leadership on emerging HR trends Good internal and external stakeholder management Strong collaboration skills Advanced communication & negotiation skills; Problem solving skills
