The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.
Perform credit analysis and relationship management activities as a member of the Restaurant Finance Group. The Restaurant Finance Group provides financing solutions and advisory services to operating companies, franchisors, and franchisees of regional, national, and multinational restaurant companies. MUFG established the Restaurant Finance Group within its Global Corporate and Investment Bank in 2018 and accelerated its expansion with the addition of 8 industry veterans in 2021.The Restaurant Finance Group has grown significantly over the past four years in the Americas and is an industry leader.
The Portfolio Manager role involves the following:
+ Perform underwriting activities for new transactions including identifying structural risks and mitigants, evaluating performance trends and repayment capacity and recommending covenant and structure enhancements
+ Actively monitor and manage credit exposure within the Restaurant Finance portfolio including performing due diligence and regularly scheduled reviews and evaluating the borrower’s credit risks and recommending rating assignments to management
+ Maintain relationships with assigned customers
+ Conduct other portfolio management duties relating to the Restaurant Finance portfolio
+ Support and mentor junior team members in the portfolio management process
**Key Responsibilities** :
+ Model, analyze and report on the credit risks of existing portfolio of corporate loans to restaurant operators, franchisors, and franchisees
+ Preparation of credit applications for existing and new clients in accordance with internal policies and regulations, including the evaluation of company-specific, industry, and regulatory risks
+ Work within a deal team environment supporting the development of financing structures and alternatives
+ Provide oversight of loan closing due diligence and documentation working with internal and external counsel
+ Manage waiver, amendments, and other transaction life-cycle events
+ Prepare reporting to senior management on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis
+ Maintain relationships with assigned clients and participate in client meetings
+ Provide support for other special projects relating to the management and governance of the Restaurant Finance loan portfolio
+ Provide feedback and oversight by reviewing work product from junior team members for completeness and accuracy
**Requirements:**
+ A bachelors degree
+ A minimum of 10+ years work experience in corporate or commercial banking; preferably with experience in the restaurant and/or multi-unit retail industries
+ In-depth knowledge of general corporate credit analysis, credit and risk management.
+ Ability to work with financial models to assess a restaurant company’s financial strength and repayment ability
+ In-depth knowledge of loan documentation
+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
+ Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
The typical base pay range for this role is between $190k-$220k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
