Generative AI is a form of artificial intelligence which has a human-level of cognitive function, across a wide variety of domains such as language processing, image processing, computational functioning to mimic human-like reasoning. GenAI is an emerging technology that will play a vital role in profitable growth for Caterpillar. Cat IT is working hard to enable a safe environment where the business can innovate and thrive. They have developed an Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence to operationalize Caterpillar IT’s GenAI COE services to deliver business value by developing deep expertise to be able to scale and drive efficiencies, ensure we are providing solutions using the right technology, and has approved below roles to support the growing demand for GenAI COE services. **What You Will Do:** The Business Lead will play a crucial role in driving the successful implementation of Generative AI initiatives by capturing use case ideas, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring that value and KPIs are accurately defined, documented, and validated throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong business acumen, prior experience with Generative AI projects, and the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. + Act as the primary business lead for Generative AI initiatives, overseeing the capture of use case ideas and ensuring they align with business goals. + Define, document, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success and value of AI solutions. + Engage with multiple stakeholders, including executives, technical teams, and end-users, to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. + Conduct value reporting to assess the impact of AI solutions against business objectives and KPIs. + Work closely with technical teams to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications and that solutions deliver expected value. + Facilitate discussions and workshops with stakeholders to refine use cases and validate KPIs. + Prepare and present value assessments, progress reports, and KPI monitoring updates to leadership and stakeholders. + Identify potential risks and challenges in AI projects and work collaboratively to develop mitigation strategies. + Manage cross-functional teams and foster collaboration to drive project success. + Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the value delivered by AI solutions through ongoing monitoring and analysis. **What You Have:** + Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts and their application in business scenarios. + Proficient in KPI development, tracking, and value reporting methodologies. + Familiarity with data analytics to support value measurement and KPI monitoring. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels. + Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in guiding cross-functional teams. + Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. + Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. + Proven track record of leading business initiatives and delivering measurable results. Preferred Skills: + Experience with project management tools and methodologies. + Familiarity with change management principles. + Background in data analytics or data science is a plus.
