The Opportunity
Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gender Equality and Inclusion Specialist to contribute to our groundbreaking A Gender-Responsive Systems Approach to Universal Health Care (GRASP-UHC) project. This five-year initiative aims to improve the health outcomes of vulnerable populations by strengthening the capacity of local government units to provide equitable healthcare access.
As a key member of our team, you will:
Lead GEI Assessment: Oversee the project's GEI assessment, including developing tools, training consultants, and ensuring data quality. Capacity Building: Train project staff and partners on applying GEI principles to health system strengthening and universal healthcare. Strategic Innovation: Develop and implement innovative strategies to promote gender equality and inclusion, empowering women, girls, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and Indigenous Peoples. Training and Mentoring: Conduct training of trainers and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to project staff. Partnership Building: Foster strong relationships with relevant organizations, government institutions, and civil society to advance GEI goals. Emergency Response: In exceptional circumstances, contribute to emergency response activities.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
Education: Graduate degree in Social Sciences or a related field. Advanced degrees are an advantage. Experience: At least five years of experience in implementing GEI programs in development contexts. Training: Completion of training in advanced GEI, community development, M&E, rights-based programming, child protection, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health, and UHC. Knowledge: Strong understanding of child rights and Philippine laws. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Attributes: Collaborative team player, effective communicator, and ability to work with diverse teams.
