Role description:
To provide leadership and technical excellence and drive the development of the financial accounting function across Global Design (GECs and GSSC). Drive standardization, digitalization and automation across Global Design and increase GSSC utilization. Build a strong people first culture and strive for low voluntary attribution.
Role accountabilities:
Span of control – Cost Centre c.€70m Lead the Accounts Payable and Payroll Functions across Global Design. Lead Taxation, Audit and Treasury activities across Global Design. Work to a high level of professionalism, integrity and independence Act as a trusted Business Partner to all Business Units Work to ensure a ‘no surprise’ culture Payroll. Lead a team to ensure a consistent, well controlled, lean, digital, automated process is in place for payroll. HR lead this process but Finance have a responsibility to ensure a fit for purpose process is in place, to ensure compliance with tax legislation, to perform a review, to book accounting entries and to make the payment. Payroll. Manage all payroll related processes and provide effective financial control and reporting transparency. Accounts Payable. Lead a team to ensure a consistent, well controlled, lean, digital, automated process is in place for Accounts Payable. Ensure supplier payments are made on time and in a controlled manner. Ensure accurate costing of supplier invoices. Taxation. P&L and balance sheet reporting and control for all taxation (including payroll related) across Global Design. This includes Corporation tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing and Withholding tax. o Work with In-Country Accountants to ensure local taxation requirements are met. Collaborate with Global Tax Specialists for their knowledge and to provide information.o Project manage tax submissions and compliance. Ensure all parties are aware of the timing, information requirements and the communication channels with tax advisors / government tax departments. Ensure tax submissions run smoothly and on time and to quality with tracking and reporting of progress. Audit. Project manage financial audits and the statutory accounts process. Ensure all parties are aware of the timing, information requirements and the communication channels with auditors. Ensure a smooth audit that is delivered on time and to quality with tracking and reporting of progress. Along with In-Country Accountant, maintain a relationship with the local auditing firms in each location. Treasury. Ensure compliance with the Global Treasury Policies and input into the design of local policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with local treasury policies. Areas of responsibility include cash flow forecasting, bank accounts/petty cash/credit card governance, cash reporting, foreign exchange control/efficiency, liquidity management, cash module management in Oracle
Qualifications & Experience:
Significant professional experience (15 years or more) in finance. Experience of working in a medium/large organization in a manager role Excel & ERP to a high proficiency (data analytics skills preferred as well) Good leadership and management skills Able to think and act in a proactive and independent manner Able to force decisions in contentious areas thereby ensuring timely closure Able to manage relationships and senior stakeholders Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship building skills Strong planning and organizational skills Culturally adoptive Well-developed verbal and written English Adaptable in the face of new challenges Demonstrates commitment to team success.
