Role description:

Ownership of execution and implementation of the company policies e.g. Treasury and Accounts Payable related policies are coordinated with ICA to ensure compliance requirements are fulfilled.

Reports to General Accounting Director – Global Design and dotted line to ROM BU Controller

Working Relationships and Contacts: 

General Accounting, Other Regional Finance Teams, Other Enabling Functions (Legal, People Team) Global Design Management BU Controllers Corporate Finance teams e.g. Group Tax, Legal, Treasury, Audit, etc.

Role accountabilities:

Preparation of the tax declarations (payroll taxes, VAT, VAT returns, SAF-T reporting), and maintenance of tax balances in the books including any other reports that our government may require. The final review and sign-off will remain with the RO BU Controller.  Monitor and track the Tax Returns and Compliance Reports prepared to ensure the timely submission and report out to management any issues, risks, and exposures. Perform spot checks to validate and review that processes are in place to ensure transactions are executed as expected.  Understand process flows of the business to make sure they understand the tax, and risk components and proactively influence business process changes Project manage tax and financial audit engagement and prepare all requirements necessary to complete the audit. For clarity, the final review and discussion with the tax and financial audit will remain with the ROM BU Controller, including the Corporate Income tax and financial statements preparation and presentation to the Global Tax and BOD of GEC RO. Maintain updated Transfer Pricing documentation for every calendar year in collaboration with Global Tax and TP team (final review will remain with ROM BU Controller) Assist with Master Intercompany Service Agreement and other necessary intercompany agreements between GEC RO and other affiliates. The final review will be conducted by ROM BU Controller. Advise People – Service Payroll team on tax implications of secondments from GEC RO to other countries/regions based on the discussion and review performed by ROM BU Controller. With the support of the In-Country Travel Coordinator, monitors incoming visitors to the country including length of stay to avoid creating a permanent establishment or personal tax burden. Project manage the reconciliation process between Winmentor and ERP. Project manage the relationship with Winmentor to align with any new changes in tax laws and other regulations to ensure compliance and avoid penalties. Overseeing the payroll process, payroll tax computation, and presenting the final payroll statement to the ROM BU Controller for payments Initiating all payments within the company and sending for final approval to the BU Controller.

Qualifications & Experience:

Full accounting with medium tax/compliance background Significant professional experience (10 years or more) in finance. Experience of working in a medium/large organization in a senior role Able to think, analyze, and consider the broader context to develop pragmatic solutions Proactive and can work independently  Able to manage relationships and senior stakeholders Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills/ collaborative Culturally adaptive Well-developed verbal and written English Excel & ERP proficiency will be a plus
