General Accounting Specialist

Role description:

Our Enabling Functions span HR, Legal, IT and beyond. In every role you’ll play a major part in driving the growth of our business by bringing your expertise, strategic vision, commercial focus and operational excellence. 

Role accountabilities:

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:


•    Reviews balance sheet reconciliation reports and ensures that relevant schedules and analyses are available monthly
•    Manages the period-end close procedures and ensure accurate and timely reporting
•    Review recording and depreciation of Fixed Assets
•    Review monthly amortization of Prepayments
•    Review the monthly accruals and manages the overhead variance commentary
•    Performs variance analysis/P&L review to business partners
•    Coordinate with the FP&A team on the management PL and Enabling function reports
•    Preparation of Tech reports to provide insight on the PL for Tech accounts. Provide effective financial control and process for Tech accounts in coordination with Global Tech team
•    Responsible for balance sheet reconciliation and reporting in collaboration with in-country accountants
•    Review of the overhead allocations to business units and GBAs
•    Act as primary point-of-contact for the Shared Service business unit
•    Recommends areas for standardization and process improvement.
•    Responsible in the uploading the financial pack and tax provisioning in Onestream and support on queries from Group Finance
•    Develop strong relationship with various stakeholders
•    Involvement in the plan and forecast process for Tech overhead costs and CAPEX
•    Performs other accounting related functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience:

•    Bachelor's/College Degree, major in Accountancy, CPA is required
•    5 to 6 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting and reporting and budgeting
•    Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
•    Exposure in Shared service or Multinational environment is an advantage
•    Experience in ERP system is preferred
•    Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, and Word) is required
•    Knowledge in the actual implementation/application of IFR/PFR Standards 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Results oriented
•    Strong negotiating and influencing skills in order to challenge the regions
•    Strong stakeholder management
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
•    Proactive and a committed team player
•    Can work under pressure and minimal supervision
•    Can work on flexible hours to meet changing work environment and to meet tight deadlines
