Job Overview The General Superintendent assists the Project Manager in the daily operations of the construction department, provides managerial oversight of the projects to plan, direct, coordinate and/or budget activities. He / She will also act as the primary liaison with customer representatives, participating in the conceptual development of a construction project and once awarded, oversee its start-up, organization, scheduling, and implementation. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Functions Assists in the management of operations and activities to ensure corporate goals and objectives are met, and sound business practices are applied consistently and appropriately. Ensures all subordinate personnel are customer and service focused and strive for quality performance and constant improvement. Ensures all business activities are complying with corporate and government policies, procedures and standards, and project contract/subcontract agreements. Oversees all construction activities for assigned projects in a manner such that there is minimal interruption to the customer’s operation/employees to meet or exceed industry quality workmanship standards. Ability to implement principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Reviews plans, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates to identify and correct any errors, omissions, code violations or potential project inadequacies for review/correction. Ensures company compliance with terms of the contract. Promptly resolves customer concerns and compliance issues and notifies Manager of concerns. Works independently to oversee a cradle to grave approach to work order and task order management. Reviews Government Scope of work and develops Scope of Work for subcontractors. Writes PPIs and RFIs. Supports project schedule development and maintenance. Oversee several projects. Schedules and supervises work progress, communicating directly with everyone involved to coordinate every aspect of multiple jobs simultaneously. Completes receiving report. Performs company Quality Assurance Inspections, verifies subcontractor compliance with scopes of work and applicable specifications and regulations. Reviews subcontractor submittals as required. Acts as a representative of Chugach in discussions with government representatives and communicates government requirements to subcontractors. Tracks end of the month billing for multiple task orders and work orders. Coordinates with shops for task order support as required. Coordinates outages, permits and prices and routes escort services requests. Schedules and manages on site construction, non-reoccurring work order execution and completion. Final job closes out, warranty issue and final billing. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory High school diploma or equivalent. Ten (10) years of direct experience managing construction projects/activities to include oversight of construction resources construction personnel, monitoring/controlling cost and providing professional customer support. Minimum of five-year’s experience performing construction estimating or design. Experience estimating and managing multiple construction contracts ranging in size, from $250,000- $20 million. U.S. Citizenship. Maintain a valid state driver’s license.
