Job Description

SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, the General Constructor is responsible for using hand and power tools to assist in building modular units at production facilities (plant) and various construction sites (field). Duties include assembling, installing, and maintaining structures or components while adhering to safety guidelines.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates and maintains tools and equipment to perform tasks such as installation, assembly, and repair.Installs and assembles components and fixtures according to project specifications, both in the plant and on construction sites.Prepares surfaces and structures for finishing or additional work as needed.Identifies and resolves basic issues encountered during production and construction processes.Collaborates with team members to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality standards.Follows detailed instructions and plans to complete tasks accurately.Communicates progress, material needs, and issues to supervisors or management.Manages time effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.Promotes and follows safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policies.Maintains consistent, full-time, predictable onsite attendance as an essential function of the role.Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in a manufacturing or construction environment, with hands-on work in assembly, construction, or related tasksFamiliarity with hand and power tools, as well as mobile equipment, is preferredExperience with modular construction or prefabrication processes is a plusAny combination of relevant education and/or experience demonstrating proficiency in the essential functions of the roleBasic understanding of safety protocols in production or construction settingsEligible to work in the United States

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be conducted in a manufacturing plant with a controlled environment, involving exposure to machinery, construction, and production processes, as well as varying weather conditions, noise, and dust. Work may also take place at construction sites with similar exposure to weather conditions, noise, and dust.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests will be provided and must be worn on the production floor and construction site.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push or pull loads of up to 50 pounds; physical fitness and stamina are essential.Strong balance, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.Ability to meet visual and auditory acuity requirements.Ability to stand for long periods.
