The Role 

Large & Complex Casualty Broker

WTW’s General Industry/M&A brokers oversee day-to-day placement and broking responsibilities for our largest and most complex accounts. Brokers are expected to meaningfully contribute to our vertical by supporting new business opportunities; developing business relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and markets; leading negotiations with underwriters regarding coverage terms, conditions and pricing on new and existing programs; evaluating quotes and preparing marketing reports; managing pro-forma analysis information and distribution; assisting in the development and deployment of Healthcare/Life Sciences-specific products and resources; and performing other duties as assigned: 

Manages brokerage responsibilities for a book of new and recurring casualty exposures Leads broking communication efforts with underwriters and client teams Obtains and distributes information from client and/or client management teams Assists on or leads front end sales/RFP efforts  Prepares/oversees creation of proposals, submissions and quotes Designs and prepares analytics/modeling material for clients in support of premium, collateral and/or program structure objectives for each renewal Reviews binders for accuracy and completeness Sorts and distributes work assignments for developing brokers Maintains and develops business relationships with WTW Client Advocates, Producers and senior underwriting contacts Curates knowledge of the Healthcare/Life Sciences industry, insurance carriers and their business practices Participates in continuing education to maintain licensure and industry credentials

The Requirements 

Insurance broker’s P&C license Risk Management/Insurance degree preferred8-10 years of experience preferredLarge account loss sensitive experience Healthcare and/or Life Sciences experience preferredCasualty coverage fluencyAbility to negotiate collateral with an understanding of loss development and credit riskDemonstrated knowledge of core insurance principles & ability to articulate such knowledge to clientsDemonstrated excellence in negotiation skills and influence skills are criticalDemonstrated ability in conflict resolution and selling skills are a plusAttention to detail and process orientationStrong ability to deploy the full capabilities of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPointUnderstanding of required placement workflowsSelf-starter/requires minimal supervisionWill seek guidance when neededSolid presentation skills-written or oralEnhancing client service skillsAbility to deal with difficult client situationsDemonstrates knowledge of insurance structures

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
