Yuma features extraordinary outdoor activities from tubing on the Colorado River to off-roading at the Buttercup Sand Dunes. Job Summary: A Process Operator is responsible for safely operating computerized and manual process systems to efficiently produce high quality and safe product to meet company and customer specifications. Responsibilities will include assisting in other departments or other duties as requested by management. The employee has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Responsibilities: Maintain and operate all equipment in a safe manner to avoid injury to self or others and demonstrate safety as a top priority. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. Report all Food Safety & Quality issues to a Supervisor, QA Manager, or at Senior Manager. Inspecting/sorting the eggs and ensuring the best quality product, is being packaged. Responsible for confirming and verifying weight of product. Ensures the labels and product date and type is correct. Places proper labels on boxes. Ensures that bags and pails are properly sealed and clean. Inspect/Check the quality of eggs. Removes broken eggs. Understands dates, expiration and item numbers. Minimize product loss Keep work area neat, clean, and sanitary Report all work-related injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately Use appropriate safety equipment when required (ear plugs, rubber boots, safety glasses, face shields, aprons, bump caps, etc.) Use lockout/tag out procedures when required Follow instructions from supervisor and cooperate with coworkers and other department; be willing to fill in where needed Maintain good personal hygiene Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Qualifications Preferred Experience and Skills: Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction. Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments. Able to work independently or with others in a team environment depending upon the assignment. Maintain a positive attitude. Ability to work around required cleaning solutions. Physical Demands: Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments. Possesses good hand-eye coordination. Able to stand on hard surface most of the shift, ascend and descend stairs, bend, stoop or crouch, grasp and reach. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Standing for long periods of time. The noise levels in the work environment will range from moderate to loud. Language Skills: In order to promote a manufacturing environment that is safe and efficient for both personnel and food, the ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written) is required. This includes the ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings, short correspondence, and memos for self and others in both normal and emergency situations. Ability to effectively present information on one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
