The Family Housing General Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks the require physical labor, such as lifting and operating equipment for pressure washing, loading and unloading material and equipment, and operating power tools. The job may require working outdoors and in various weather conditions. Responsibilities Pressure washing of houses, roofs and other structures Provide information relative to progress and completion of work orders. Participate in and assists in preparation of maintenance reports and statistical performance data, when required. Coordinate with Shop Supply and Material Expediting personnel to ensure adequate repair parts and supplies are available to support mission Update and retrieve equipment record data and asset information Assist other workers with tasks as needed Maintain a clean and organized work area Report equipmentThe issues and defective materials to Supervisor Perform other duties as assigned, be willing to work rotating shifts, and maintain a harmonic working relationship with all levels of management and co-workers. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High School Degree, or equivalent required; advanced training a plus. One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Background Investigations Experience (3) three to five (5) years’ experience in the Maintenance arena preferred or equivalent skills required. Maximo experience preferred Completing maintenance work order to include the materials, methods, and tools to complete work Previous experience in manual labor or related fields Performing basic maintenance and repairs Skills Must have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Able to read and interpret Work Orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blueprints and manuals in order to accomplish assigned duties. Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork.
