POSITION SUMMARY: 

The General Ledger Senior Accountant, Shared Services is responsible for the maintenance of the accurate recording of journal entries, timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts and proper application of accounting policies and procedures of the entities the Company is providing Outsourcing Services to.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Assists in developing and producing accurate and timely financial reports to be used for internal management reporting.
2.    Assists in the management of an effective and efficient month-end reporting process.
3.    Reviews and approves journal entries / account reconciliations, ensures entries are recorded timely and accurately.
4.    Ensures consistent application of accounting policies and procedures under the guidance of Finance Senior Management and in accordance with MPEL Accounting Policies and Procedures.
5.    Supervises and assists in the development of Accountants and Assistant Accountants.
6.    Ensures adherence to deadlines for all regulatory and reporting requirements.
7.    Reviews and / or prepares cash flow reports for Senior Management.
8.    Prepares analysis of data and statistics for example payroll fluctuation analysis, marketing spend, retail and rental revenue analysis, actual versus budget variance on monthly departmental P&L.  These are examples only and not an exhaustive list. 
9.    Assists in the monthly distribution of Departmental Profit and Loss to Departmental heads, discuss and explain actual variances.
10.    Interacts with the various sources of financial information (e.g. Accounts Payable, Payroll, audit etc.) and financial system to ensure accurate and timely management reporting. Identify issues and provide potential solutions.

11.    Liaises with external parties which includes auditors or government bodies in order to meet reporting deadlines, cost objectives, and resolution of accounting and audit issues.
12.    Establishes strong working relationships with other departments to ensure information is shared and cost efficiencies are gained for the department.
13.    Undertakes special projects as and when required.
14.    Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations in the jurisdictions the entities the Company is providing Outsourcing Services to.
15.    Pro-actively seeks to look for new and improved ways of working, using increased automation and technology where possible.
16.    Ensures all Policies and Procedures are kept up to date and updated as changes occur.
17. Performs other/ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by immediate superiors from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

I.    Experience

1.    A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience (hospitality industry / large organization / auditing), of which at least 2 years must be in supervisory role, and with both auditing and commercial experience preferable.
2.    Recognized accounting qualification will be an advantage.

II.    Education 

1.    University degree in Accounting / Finance
2.    CPA desirable

III.    Skills / Competencies 

1.    Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Standards.
2.    Knowledge of gaming industry will be a plus.
3.    Knowledge of ERP application and strong Excel skills.
4.    Proven good supervisory and organizational skills.
5.    Good written and oral communication skills in English.
