UPMC Bedford is hiring a General Maintenance 1 to join our Corporate Maintenance Team!  This role will work variable days, which include weekends and holidays.  The position will primarily work during the hours of 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM and 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM as well as assisting with other coverage as needed.

The General Maintenance 1 position will perform routine repairs and upkeep on UPMC Bedford’s building and UPMC facilities within the area.  This will include basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, hardware repairs and more.  We are looking for an individual that is interested in expanding their trade skills!

Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision. Exhibit a basic knowledge of electricity, carpentry/hardware repairs, and mechanical equipment and systems. Assist with and maintain general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas. Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment. Perform all work following infection control procedures. Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Assist in snow removal.
