PenFed is hiring a General Maintenance II to work onsite at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to perform varied maintenance, carpentry & drywall tasks and assist with the installation of network, data and CAT5 cabling and accessories. Assist the Facilities Project Manager with various project duties, including the installation of Branch build-outs and ATM installs/relocations. Assist the Facilities Engineer with preventive maintenance programs for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to ensure the continuous and efficient use of these systems. Perform ongoing preventative maintenance of related systems to ensure the safety of these systems. Participate in the installation of building systems to ensure compliance with related regulations and the preventative maintenance programs. Responsible for making corporate purchases and maintaining accurate records of expenditures. Must regularly advise the Director of any problems or exceptions needed Coordinate and provide support during building emergencies. Answer, update and close service request tickets in a timely manner. Create scope of work and gather bids for needed building repairs, maintenance contracts, etc. Responsible for moving office furniture and equipment. Available for emergency coverage for main office, local branches and out of town service centers. Collect and store inspection reports Escort and direct vendors during maintenance, repairs and projects. Manage and direct vendors preforming repairs, project and maintenance remotely for all assigned locations where necessary. Meet with fire department and power down building if necessary. Manage vendors and contractors ensuring they meet all requirements described in contracts and proposals. Assist and support the building engineer in all tasks and duties Preform and record building check lists. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field is required. Ability to travel to various PenFed locations may be required. Ability to list up to 40lbs. Familiar with Microsoft Office software products. Proficient in written and verbal communications.. Minimum travel may be required. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications CAT5 (Ethernet) Certification and/or CFC Certification is preferred, but not required. Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing certifications is preferred, but not required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
