Responsibilities The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, replacing, or otherwise improving items of the Hospital Facilities or equipment. Perform semi-skilled work in several crafts. Perform semi-skilled tasks. (Examples) repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors or other building fixtures, plumbing and electrical, basic carpentry skills required Adjust and make repairs, “on location” to equipment and physical plant Construct or reconstruct equipment and the physical plant Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed Install such new equipment, as directed Responsible for snow removal during and after hours Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair Perform other duties of the department, as assigned Qualifications Job Requirements: A high school diploma or GED 3 years in maintenance, various types of equipment, and physical plant 2 years of construction experience in basic carpentry and drywall Skilled in the use of hand and power tools. Proven maintenance experience. Preferred Job Requirements: Hospital setting experience
