General Maintenance Worker- Interior Electric
**Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a General Maintenance Worker- Interior Electric position at Fort Carson, Colorado. The hourly pay will be $26.77, plus an additional $8.34-$10.96 towards Health and Welfare benefits.** **Purpose and Scope:** Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in electrical trade. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors. Assist Electricians with daily duties. **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** + Make mechanical and electrical (480 volts or below) alterations, as required, to the air conditioning equipment, heating, ventilation, air conditioning controls, and other mechanical equipment + Respond to requests for service adjustments and other trouble calls. + Maintain accurate log of CFC usage and repairs to CFC equipment and + other monitoring equipment. + Perform preventative maintenance, equipment lubrication, and daily inspections in accordance with a well-defined program. + Institute a corrective action and/or inform supervisor of any deficiencies found while performing the job. + Utilize diagnostic test equipment and other related tools of the trade. + Employees will be required to work on top of buildings, in mechanical rooms, in crawl spaces, etc. to do routine maintenance. + This requires but is not limited to carrying ladders, being in small spaces over periods of time, and being able to work at all heights. + General electrical maintenance on streetlights, traffic control cabinets, and airfield lighting. + Replacing ballasts, light bulbs and light pole maintenance, traffic lights, and airfield lighting: assisting electricians with daily duties. + Driving and operating non-CDL bucket trucks. Operate digger / derrick trucks, and able to work at all heights. + Perform all other work duties as directed. **Minimum Requirements:** + Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. **Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.** + Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). + Must have a current valid driver’s license. + Minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades. + Practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in the Electrical Trade. + Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds + For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record within the past 36 months, as defined by Company policy. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** : On a continuous basis, sit, stand, bend, climb ladders (up to 200 feet), stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction. **WORKING ENVIRONMENT** : Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations; some work is performed in underground electrical vaults, and in excavation sites.
