**All Job Postings will close at 12:01 a.m. CT on the specified Closing Date (if designated).** **Working Title:** General Maintenance Worker - Intermittent (Staples) **Institution:** Central Lakes College **Classification Title:** General Maintenance Wrkr **Bargaining Unit / Union:** 203: AFSCME - Service **City:** Staples **FLSA:** Non Job Exempt **Full Time / Part Time:** Part time **Employment Condition:** Classified - Unlimited **Salary Range:** $20.21 - $28.79 **Application Procedure:** Please upload the following information with your application: + Cover Letter/Letter of Interest + Current resume (include dates of employment with month and year) for each position and indicate average hours worked per week for each job. **Salary Range:** $20.21-25.05 hourly **Job Description** This position performs heavy custodial cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds at Central Lakes College Staples Campus which includes - cleaning all types of public facilities; maintaining walkways and grounds; performing minor repairs to fixtures and equipment; recognizing and correcting and/or reporting to supervisor any security, fire, safety or health hazards; receiving and delivering freight and supplies; setting-up furniture and equipment for special events. This position is part of the overall team which ensures that the buildings and grounds are well maintained and kept in good repair for the safety of the students, faculty, staff and general public. **Minimum Qualifications** + Knowledge of different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment. + Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely. + Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs. + Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions. + Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions. + Ability to perform assigned tasks with limited work direction. + Ability to keep simple records. **Preferred Qualification** + Working knowledge of special skills ordinarily performed by groundskeepers, carpenters, painters, janitors, and mechanics sufficient to make minor repairs. + State of Minnesota Boilers License. + Demonstrated high level of cultural competency and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning with CLC’s Culture of Caring environment. **Other Requirements** + Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions (e.g. moving, transporting, stationary positions, positioning self in confined areas). + Ability to work outside in extreme heat or below freezing weather. + Work above the ground level such as on ladders and scaffolding. + Ability to move up to 50 pounds. **Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)** Intermittent, hours and days may vary (8 hours/day, 2:00-10:30pm Monday-Friday as needed). **Telework (Yes/No)** No **About** Central Lakes College is a comprehensive community and technical college serving about 5,500 students per year.
