Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

Compensation: $27.85 - $27.85 per hour

Skookum is seeking a dedicated and professional General Maintenance Worker Lead with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Responsible for a variety of tasks to include painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in windows and doors, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work.  Clean roof drains and gutters.

Communicates and interacts directly with the customer, informs the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determines customer needs.

Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.

Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.

Makes difficult diagnoses and suggests solutions and repairs to customers.

Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimated completion dates.

Ensure all installation, repairs, and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.

Maintains preventative maintenance and repair records.

Read and understand drawings, work plans and maps.

Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as basic shifts and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.

Trains employees on job tasks and assignments to ensure complete understanding of work assigned.

Assist Manager in monitoring employee performance ensuring efficient use of time and performance of work tasks.

Lead subordinates to learn assigned tasks and gain knowledge of required abilities necessary to maintain workload.

Assist Quality control, and SSHO in training, and inspections as needed.

Must maintain and wear PPE as required.

Qualifications: 

Minimum of 3 years of experience in General Maintenance.

Preferred: Journeyman level certification (or equivalent combination of experience and/or licensing) preferred.

Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

Required: Ability to learn a wide variety of building and grounds maintenance duties.

Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
