About the opportunity  
  
 As a result of an internal appointment, we are excited to commence the search for our new General Manager, Data and AI at Australia Post. The General Manager, Data and AI, will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Australia Post. This senior leadership position is responsible for driving the strategic direction, implementation, and management of data and artificial intelligence initiatives across the organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies, coupled with a strong business acumen and leadership capabilities. 
  
What you’ll deliver with us  
  
 Reporting into our Executive General Manager – Enterprise Services, you will lead our Data & AI function for Australia Post. You will have accountability across enterprise data modernisation, integration, customer data & insights and our AI strategy, which is a key priority within our Post26 and Customer Experience Transformation (CXT) programme. This is a highly strategic role, where you will; deliver against agreed priorities, influence SLT & EGM’s regarding best practice strategy, empower your team of senior leaders and evolve our GenAI strategy and tools across the organisation.  
  
You’ll also  

Develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive data and AI strategy that aligns with and supports Australia Post’s overarching business objectives and growth ambitions. Provide strategic direction to our Board and executive/ senior leadership team, ensuring alignment with the organisation's vision and goals. Oversee the strategic design, development, and deployment of AI and machine learning models to drive operational efficiency and enhance customer experience. Ensure strategic integrity, security, and stewardship of data assets while promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Identify, prioritise, and capitalise on strategic data and AI opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive significant business value. Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to sustain Australia Post’s competitive edge in data and AI. You are also a thought leader within the Australia Data & AI community. 

 
  
About you  
  
 You are a seasoned technology executive with proven ability to act as a change agent within large and complex organisations. You also are a domain expert within the Data & AI segment, with a strong network of industry partners and organisations that you can draw upon when forming critical decision making. You enjoy delivering to enterprise wide, strategic goals and have a strong ability to influence from Board/ EGM and SLT forums.  
  
You’ll also need  

* Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated strategic partner experience at scale. 
* A passion for innovation, with tangible experience building Gen AI enterprise strategy 

* Demonstrated ability to translate data and AI insights into actionable business strategies and outcomes. 

* Identify, prioritise, and capitalise on strategic data & AI opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams and strategic partners to drive significant business value 
 * Ability to run a large P&L, taking accountability for investments and decision making
