Join Our Team as the General Manager for our Football Program.

Under the guidance of the Head Football Coach, our General Manager will lead the daily operations of our talent acquisition department, overseeing roster management, financial allocations, and recruitment. You'll be the primary liaison for all Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnerships, handling player contract negotiations, professional communications, and financial packages. You’ll also play a key role in software management.

Position Information

The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego. This is a full-time, permanent/probationary, offering comprehensive benefits. Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.  Professional or NCAA D1 experience in football.

Key Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of college athletics administration, professional sports administration, and/or player personnel management. Knowledge of current Name, Image, and Likeness trends. Exceptional skills in communication, strategic planning, organization, decision-making, facilitating change, guiding and developing staff, and conflict management. Current knowledge or the ability to understand and analyze NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with coaches, players, legal guardians, and university administrators. Experience and/or knowledge in managing rosters, contract negotiations, and overall budget management. Ability to work flexible hours and travel out of town.

University employees that have direct job responsibilities involving intercollegiate athletics are expected to have knowledge and understanding of NCAA, conference and University rules, policies and procedures governing intercollegiate athletics. Additionally, he or she is required to notify the appropriate personnel of any knowledge of, or should have known of, any violation or suspected violation of NCAA, conference, or University regulations.
