General Manager

Our client is an Alberta-based manufacturing and distribution company offering innovative products and services to the energy, mining, power transmission, and construction industries. With a commitment to quality and reliability, they serve a diverse range of clients across Western Canada.

Position Overview:

The General Manager will oversee all regional operations from the Edmonton office, with full responsibility for the management team, safety, and operations. This role places a strong emphasis on business development to expand the company’s footprint in the Western Canadian market.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development Develop and execute sales strategies to meet sales targets and company objectives. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to grow the customer base and enhance market share. Address and resolve customer issues promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction. Conduct regular business reviews to align customer needs with company offerings. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and forecast future sales and growth opportunities.

Safety

Foster a “safety-first” culture across the organization, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.

Business Leadership

Lead efforts to achieve profitable growth and meet annual targets within the region. Oversee the setting and attainment of annual regional objectives. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement to boost productivity, asset utilization, and cost efficiency.

Operations

Manage operational processes, emphasizing efficiency and strategic resource allocation. Regular travel within Western Canada is required.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role, ideally with a background in business development. Proven record of meeting sales targets and driving growth in the oil and gas or related industries. Well defined network in the Western Canadian oil and gas industry sector is a definite asset Strong business acumen and financial management skills. Demonstrates sound judgment, customer focus, and a proactive approach. Excellent customer service and negotiation abilities. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively. Proficient in CRM software and MS Teams suite.
