Primary Purpose:

The ChemPoint EMEA Business Director is the on-site leader of the ChemPoint EMEA business, as well as a member of the global Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This leader will drive regional growth strategy and will be the primary leader of people for the region. The leader will be responsible for developing business plans within the region to expand the market, increase revenue, strengthen existing and create new supplier relationships and improve profitability. They will provide direct management for the sales, business development, product management, supply chain, and customer service teams; and therefore, will play a key role in creating and influencing team culture. The leader will motivate and inspire their team to achieve individual performance goals tied to the overall company targets. Through the ETL, they will collaborate with US leadership to ensure business continuity, sharing of best practices and achievement of enterprise targets. The leader will have direct P&L and Balance Sheet responsibility for the EMEA business.

Lead and empower teams by establishing clear goals and vision.  Lead managers and teams to meet and exceed organizational expectations.  Design and implement business strategies, set and track goals, and manage resources to improve efficiency. Achieve gross profit and volume target by working closely across all departments. Identify and assess internal and external issues that impact the business. Represent the company to enhance visibility.

Establish an operational plan incorporating goals and objectives that support the achievement of the strategic directions of region. Establish staffing requirements for management and continuity. Develops business cases to support capital requests as necessary to convert new business opportunities.

Establish a positive, healthy and safe workplace in compliance with laws and regulation. Responsible for setting a safe work environment and team building focusing on ChemPoint’s guiding principles.

Education/Experience/Training:

Minimum four-year degree in chemistry, chemical or industrial engineering, marketing, business or other related discipline. 10+years of commercial experience, 5+ years of experience leading others; chemical industry experience preferred. Demonstrated success closing complex and/or large sale opportunities. Demonstrated experience developing and executing a successful commercial strategy.

 

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong telephone skills, active listening skills, consultative selling skills, problem-solving and negotiation skills. English language skills required, a second language preferred (German or French). Deep understanding of the business relationship between manufactures, distributors and end-users of chemical products and services Proficiency in MS Office Suite Proactive, positive team player who is adaptable, flexible, and willing to take on new challenges and risks on a continual basis.
