What You’ll Do

As a General Manager of Sales and Commercial, you will be responsible for developing, leading and executing strategies ensuring the success of Dyno Nobel’s Mid-West business within the priorities of: Zero Harm, People, Customers, Efficiency and Results. The position will set challenging goals for the region to deliver year on year improvement and lead collaboration and strategy alignment across all regions. Other duties include:

Manage P&L and aggressively drive profitability through the use of financial reporting and metricsEnsure delivery of outstanding performance and achieves high level of customer satisfaction for all industry segments.Leads the business in compliance with established procedures and guidelines in the areas of people, equipment, material and environmental, safety, cost performance, asset utilization, customer, product and service delivery. Highest level of management and ownership of safety, influencing and leading by example and to ensure compliance with HSE performance standardsConsistent and visible leadership presence across the region and sitesAssessment, development, and management of talent in building a high-performance team.Drive commitment to the Talent Cycle through coaching, development, succession plans and mitigation of people risks across regionDevelop and execute business strategy based on a sound understanding of individual customers requirements, market segments, resources and an outstanding understanding of market dynamicsManage and own transition of customers/independents to new structure and financial accountabilitiesImprove and expand customer relationships within region leading to increased profitabilityLeverage deep knowledge of operations and markets to develop value selling strategies.Effectively communicate with across the organization and matrix to leverage technical expertise with growth/improvement mindset to better service current and prospective customersLeverage knowledge of site operations to constantly drive cost and operational improvements

 

What We’re Looking For:

10+ years management experience, with at least 5 years at a Regional or Senior level, within a relevant industry (mining or heavy industry)Bachelors degree or equivalent preferredProven experience with sales and site operations as a regional manager or senior executiveAdvanced people leadership/management skills including leadership, coaching and performance managementAbility to develop site operating plans and effectively execute themExperience with manufacturing of emulsion matrix, bulk truck delivery, and on-bench blasting operations preferredExperience with safety, environment, quality, maintenance, and training systems.Sound computer literacy, advanced use of Microsoft SuiteStrong understanding and acceptance of responsibility for compliance to relevant OSHA, ATF, DOT and EPA Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
