The General Manager of Sales for the US & Canada, within the marine business, is responsible for overseeing sales operations and teams to meet targets, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving business growth. This position involves leading large and complex sales projects with significant business impact, and setting the direction for sales practices and priorities. 

 

This position is based at our Fort Lauderdale, FL office and follows a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Lead and manage the sales team by setting goals, planning activities, and monitoring performance to achieve targets. Adjust procedures and allocate resources to enhance team performance. 

Develop and implement sales plans and campaigns for designated regions, product lines, or market segments in alignment with business objectives. 

Establish strong relationships with customers and partners to secure business opportunities and enhance satisfaction through tailored solutions. 

Oversee the sales pipeline and forecasts to ensure accurate planning and resource allocation and adjust activities to boost sales performance. 

Coach and support sales personnel by providing necessary tools, resources, and training, fostering continuous improvement, and adapting sales processes for greater efficiency. 

Analyse market trends and customer feedback to guide product development and positioning, and contribute to strategies for sales, retention, pricing, and distribution. 

Ensure all sales operations comply with company policies and industry regulations. 

 

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

Over 10 years of experience in the US and Canadian Marine industry. 

At least 10 years of experience in Engine and Propulsion Lifecycle and Service business. 

A minimum of 5 years in sales leadership roles. 

Extensive network within the Marine industry, including ship owners, shipyards, and designers. 

Familiarity with Decarbonization strategies, requirements, and initiatives in the Marine industry. 

Proven ability to champion innovative sales approaches and methodologies, such as Consultative Sales, ensuring the team adapts to evolving market demands and customer needs. 

Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing sales organizations, nurturing talent, and fostering a culture focused on achieving exceptional results. 

Strong communication and networking skills, with a track record of actively engaging with internal and external leaders and partners to advance sales initiatives and achieve business goals. 

Willingness to work in a hybrid model, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. 

Availability to travel up to 40% of the time.

Travel Requirements: This position requires a 40% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location.
