Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead and oversee daily operations at our facility. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving the performance of the warehouse while ensuring exceptional service to both internal and external clients. You will lead a team, optimize processes, and collaborate across departments to meet company goals and exceed operational targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development: Lead, recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Provide continuous feedback to ensure staff are motivated, productive, and aligned with organizational goals.Performance Management: Achieve company performance targets, including key internal and external KPIs such as Labor to Revenue (LTR), truck turnaround times, and customer satisfaction metrics.Process Improvement: Regularly evaluate warehouse operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and cost control.Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Manager to support marketing and sales strategies, including prospecting, rate development, negotiations, and closing sales to secure new accounts.Customer Service Excellence: Ensure the facility consistently delivers exceptional customer service. Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance satisfaction and retention.Budget & Resource Management: Oversee and manage budgets, capital expenditures, and the effective use of material handling equipment and warehouse space to meet corporate objectives.Safety & Compliance: Drive initiatives to guarantee the safe receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of products while adhering to food quality standards and Lineage safety regulations.Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in leadership and strategic planning meetings to set company objectives and action plans.Ensure continuous improvement initiatives are in place and evaluate effectiveness regularly.Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is required. 8+ years of operations management experience in supply chain or a related field.Strategic & Operational Expertise: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies, manage budgets, and oversee operational performance improvements (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workshops, etc.).Process Improvement Experience: Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and/or LEAN, with a track record of successful application.Team Leadership: Proven ability to manage, train, and develop staff, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a must.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Problem-Solving & Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a capacity to make data-driven decisions in complex, ambiguous situations.Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a variety of environments, including cold storage sites (down to -20°F/-25°C) or hot storage areas (up to 100°F/37°C), and be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment.
