General Manager - YYZ
Main accountabilities include: Ensuring service delivery to customer airlines in accordance with airline contracts and within the agreed budget level. Fully responsible for all aspects of the station operations. Services offered at the station include Passenger, Ramp Handling, Cabin Cleaning and GSE Maintenance. Fully accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance, legal and quality aspects of the Menzies businesses in the station. Regularly interacts with customers to promote the station and to measure the level of customer satisfaction. Uses customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes. Ensuring safety and security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Health & Safety Regulations and according to international aviation standards. Implementation of the company policies and procedures, promoting sound safety, security and people management practice. Ownership for Customer Services operations and situational awareness and integrity of Terminal and Groundside operations, including being the single point of contact. Full accountability for Health & Safety issues, operational and financial performance regarding Ground Handling operations within the business unit. Monitor airline volumes and forecasts; and based on information, pre-plan to mitigate potential impact to ground handling operations and flow. Lead and motivate hard working teams to deliver excellent quality and productivity. Directing and motivating Managers to achieve agreed targets. Routine liaison with Senior Management, Airport Operations Directors, handling agents, customs, immigration and security officials as well as other airport stakeholders. Provide reports as required and analytics around service delivery measurements. Analyse issues and establish operational priorities; identify gaps and/or changes required to policies, SOP’s or other protocols and provide this information to the applicable Functional Managers. Leadership, management, planning and coaching of teams to ensure safe and secure operations, including identification and resolution of complex situations, implementing IRROPS procedures as required. Planning resource allocation for the station. Responsible for Menzies relevant audit requirements related to the business unit. Supporting the development of the business unit with accurate and timely project work. Managing the station equipment planning cycle. Responsible for ensuring compliance with Airport policies including but not limited to Public Safety, Security, SeMS, IMS practices, Environmental policies, Workplace Health & Safety and all other governances through Transport Canada. Ensuring compliance with all internal and external operational and administrative requirements. Responsible for Revenue, Payroll and Accounts Payable functions related to the business unit. Prepare financial reports and analyse trends, costs, revenue and obligations incurred to predict future revenue and expenses. Generate financial statements for the business unit and explain differences/variances in revenue, labour and operating costs against budget. Interface with internal and external auditors as required, with responsibility for year-end auditing process related to the station. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: 5 to 7 years management experience in Ground Handling business. A proven track record in managing a business unit with more than 10,000 turns per year. Financial management skills of a medium to large size business. Fully conversant with airline ground handling procedures, aviation safety and security procedures. Solid knowledge of ramp GSE. Good working knowledge of IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement. Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate cross functionally in unionized and non-unionized environments. As well with external stakeholders to achieve results. Solid knowledge of narrow and wide body aircraft operations. Knowledge of airline, inspection agency, passenger process and baggage handling procedures as they relate to Service Delivery. Experience in operational planning and resource allocation. Understanding of the wider airport operational environment. Experience and understanding of the commercial issues in aviation. Ability to successfully manage under pressure and respond to critical and or changing priorities throughout the day. Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in Health and Safety management. Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance. Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays. Compliance:
