Responsibilities:
Responsible for all production operations at the facility, including managing all production schedules, product rotation, CCP verification schedules, and overseeing safety committee. Also includes responsibility to review team members in these roles and develop improve deficient areas Trains and directs supervisors in all facets of production operations, including but not limited to: production paperwork, yields, time and attendance, discipline, motivation, turnover, absenteeism, safety, problem solving, etc. Accountable for areas of performance, safety, quality, workers’ compensation, turnover, team member morale, and other duties, as needed. Conducts audits and inspectionsProvides leadership and guidance to team members regarding employment-related mattersEnsures team members receive necessary job training and development, including cross-training to perform in other roles when neededMonitors and approves work time and attendanceCommunicates and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, and communicates regularly and as needed on plant initiativesOwns and demonstrates support for business decisionsMaintains a positive work environment and achieves retention/turnover goalsAddresses team member performance/conduct issues through coaching and the disciplinary process, as neededWorks with team members to identify and facilitate developmental opportunities for retention and career growthEnsures self and team members are accountable to job performance and demonstrating Tyson’s Code of Conduct expectations, including dignity and respect, and adherence to Tyson Food’s 5Cs. Provides continuous education on the importance of quality and safetyPerforms other duties as assignedMust be able to travel (day or overnight) to offsite meetings via different modes of transportation (e.g., airplane, car), generally 1-3 times annuallyRequirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) requiredSpecial training, vocational school, and/or college courses preferredAt least two (2) years of experience with managing floor production required, desirably in food manufacturingAt least one (1) year of supervisory experience in a production environment required, desirably in food manufacturingUnderstanding of basic HACCP principals and the ability to perform CCP monitoring verification. HACCP certification a plus or ability to become HACCP certified within 90 days of hire with Tyson (training provided by Tyson) Strong computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and run reports. Use of EIM Inventory Control and Safety Chain preferredMust have an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffingAbility to read and communicate a production schedule and determine product specifications and informationAnalytical skills - ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized informationAbility to identify and correct conditions that affect team member safetyAbility to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members Ability to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies effectivelyAbility to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold/freezing, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areasAbility to climb up and down stairs/ladders to get to/from work areas, and work at elevated levels of various heights and in confined spaces, if neededAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and glovesMust reside in the US, this role does not offer sponsorship.Resume is required to be attached to the submitted application in order to be considered.#LI-Stacy
