About the role:
The General Services Global Category Manager will oversee the strategic procurement of essential General Services categories, including HR Services, Marketing, IT, Travel, and Professional Services. This key role plays a vital part in delivering value on a global scale. As a key contributor to our organization’s success, you will design and execute sourcing strategies aligned with our corporate objectives. Additionally, you will manage a direct report and ensure that local procurement activities in Belgium are conducted efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities:
Represent the BC Sourcing department in the General Services globally, advocating procurement and demonstrating added value for BC. Implements purchasing processes / changes within BC. Manage General Services spend, looking for both short term opportunities through spot buy reduction and long-term opportunities through strategic sourcing exercises. Partner with stakeholders and maintaining a proactive approach to ensure sourcing early involvement in new projects, proactively assessing new opportunities. Develop strategies and tactics – together with the business - to give our company a competitive advantage in either technology or cost. Prepare and run tenders for the categories in scope, dealing with all relevant stakeholders (service providers, internal customers and cross functional teams). Generating revenue through productivity initiatives, rebates and contract signing bonuses & build and maintain Supplier relationships with the objective of reducing costs, eliminating inefficiencies throughout the Procurement cycle. Perform contract completion, contract management, and supplier management for products and services (incl. driving contracts and price negotiations). Support in the implementation of Coupa and continuous content management post-implementation (identifying opportunities, building up strategic relationships with key vendors, continuously assess opportunities to expand geographical coverage and product portfolio, leveraging economies of scale opportunities while guaranteeing optimum quality and lead time, etc.). Leading the local buyer team, involving team management, coaching, assessment performance and being the first escalation point in the resolution of local issues in Belgium. The expected operational workload is expected to be 10-15%. This role will support the roll-out of Coupa over the next 9-12 months.
About you:
Significant experience (minimum 8 years) in the categories in scope, with at least 3 years in a Strategic Sourcing position. In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and a strong ability to apply them effectively to deliver measurable results. Proven experience in dealing with C-suite or C-suite-1 is required. Relevant skills in purchasing: negotiation, supplier management and procurement. Team management experience of at least 2 years. Analytical capabilities in order to manage cost analysis, budgets and reports. Experience with Coupa Source-to-Pay tool, ideally with involvement during the implementation phase. Project Management skills. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a global and culturally sensitive approach. Ability to work in complex and international environments. Being proactive and having a high degree of initiative is essential. Ability to work under pressure, being able to meet tight deadlines and managing properly workload at peak times are required. Autonomy, self-reliance but able to play in a team. Willingness to support to team members and being a team player is crucial. Able to be supervised from a remote location (Switzerland). Professionalism, discretion and reliability. English written and spoken fluently.
