Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2787000 and is part of the IL 126, National Guard. Responsibilities As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-2001-7/9/11, you will provide operational support to all weapon systems, aircraft ground equipment, next generation radar (NEXRAD), Base Operating Stock Management (BOSS), Repair Network Management (RNM) etc. assigned to the USAF/ANG/AFRES/AETC in worldwide locations. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Consistently and thoroughly evaluate the accuracy of data within various supply systems. Responsible for conducting in-depth analysis to identify conflicting or insufficient data, or other relevant factors pertaining to data integrity. Conduct substantial problem analysis to identify adverse trends and or/ineffective practices or procedures. Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with customers, to include but not limited to, Headquarters Air Force, MAJCOM, Combatant Commands, Numbered Air Force, Air Force Sustainment Center, Installations, Parallel Total Force Associations/Teams and all subordinate units. Conduct reviews that involve evaluating, advising on, and improving the effectiveness of a broad range of Enterprise customer service logistics/ supply support programs. Work directly with Enterprise counterparts, Major Commands (MAJCOMS), Centers and Wings to develop concepts of operations. Responsible for enterprise support and integration of centralized Repair Network Management (RNM) and Enterprise Mobility Equipment and Clothing Flight (EMECF) processes. Analyze various supply databases/systems and feedback to evaluate the status of customer satisfaction. Provide influence regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines. Requirements Conditions of Employment This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. Position is subject to shift work. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ยง 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Enlisted - Maximum Rank is E-5 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field; experience using computer and automation systems. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level MUST possess specialized experience which includes at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions; knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions; experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc. GS-9 Level MUST possess specialized experience which includes at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade; ability researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements; knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment; experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment; knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.; experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management; experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities. GS-7 Level MUST specialized experience which includes at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-5 Level experience, education, or training in researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements; knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment; experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance and disposal procedures; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
