**Program Director for General Surgery residency at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE**
**Creighton University School of Medicine is seeking a Program Director for our ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency Program based in Omaha, NE. This is a unique opportunity to lead and grow a well-established, robust surgical residency program in the beautiful city of Omaha, NE and to make a difference by training new physicians and partnering in our mission of delivering the highest quality of care and positive outcomes to patients, families, and the community. Opportunity highlights:
+ Program Director for Surgical Residency Program of a well-established at 20+ categorical PGY1-5 program
+ Program has full faculty in place including APD
+ Position is 0.4 FTE as PD, with remainder in clinical practice with well-established, local surgical group in any of the following areas of surgery: general surgery, trauma, acute care surgery, GI, minimally invasive, bariatric, surgical oncology, endocrine, vascular, or thoracic surgery.

The Program Director must:
+ Serve as a role model by espousing the traits of exemplary integrity and professionalism
+ Have at least three years of clinical experience in General Surgery at an ACGME-Accredited General Surgery Residency Program training location, with three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience.
+ Dedicate a majority of his or her time to program administration, evaluation, teaching, resident precepting, and scholarship.
+ Dedicate remaining time to direct patient care with the presence of residents.
+ Must be appointed and remain in good standing to the CHI Medical Staff.
+ Be licensed to practice medicine by the Nebraska Medical License Board.
+ Demonstrate clinical competence as a practicing physician.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
**Responsibilities**
+ Patient Care:
+ Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
+ Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
+ Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.
+ Communication:
+ Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
+ Provide clear and concise medical information.
+ Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
+ Documentation:
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
+ Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
+ Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
+ Diagnostic Procedures:
+ Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
+ Perform procedures as needed
+ Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.
+ Team Collaboration:
+ Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
+ Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
+ Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.
+ Quality Improvement:
+ Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
+ Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
+ Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.
+ Compliance:
+ Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
+ Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
+ Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.
+ Continuous Learning:
+ Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
+ Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
+ Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
**Qualifications**
+ American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
+ A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible
**Pay Range**
$250.00 -$350.00 /hour
