This requisition is for Contractor Conversion purposes.

Responsibilities

General Technician:

Prepare weld area appropriately to result in good weld penetration and meets structural integrity criteriaCollaborate with peers to accomplish projects or tasksDevelop and maintain relationships with peers and customersParticipate in group discussions and meetingsPerform checks on product and processEnsure material integrity by routine inspection by following established procedures and quality processes and specificationsEnsure piece and work output meets specificationsSort and separate defective materials and partsAssemble/disassemble and fasten/unfasten parts larger than hand using tools; fit, bolt, weld, cut or otherwise connect components and equipment according to specificationsAssemble/disassemble small parts not requiring precision alignment or small tolerancesAssemble/disassemble small parts requiring precision alignment and small tolerancesPerforms any other assigned task

Process Technician Pre-Paint:

Prepare paint area appropriately to result in good paint application that meets paint specification criteriaPaint components using appropriate spray techniquesKnowledgeable on how to adjust the spray equipmentPrep the bus to mask the areas that they will paintKnowledgeable of  proper spray techniquesMix paints and work with solventsIdentify paint defectsMaintain their equipmentKnowledgeable on basic safety precautions when handling paints/solventsPerform tasks in full gear of painter’s personal protective equipment (PPE)Perform any other assigned tasks Minimum Requirements None Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)Ability to read and follow work proceduresAbility to work in areas that are hard to reach and in awkward positionsAbility to stand, crouch, climb 10 hours per day (in addition to overtime) in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment with intermittent noise, fumes, solvents and paintsAbility to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and work around moving vehicles, on ladders and scaffolding, below ground level, with vibratory toolsThis position is safety sensitive and may involve the operation of vehicles, operation of equipment, and/or involve work with power tools, or handling of hazardous materials, that could result in injury or damage to person/property/manufacturing process Desired Skills

General Technician:

Experience using hand tools and power tools including, but not limited to: wrenches, clamps, benders, box knives, power drills, and fastening toolsAbility to achieve high performance goals with changing work directionsExperience with body repair

Process Technician Pre-Paint:
