Job Description

Role Summary:

NBC Sports connects people to their sports passions through compelling content, innovative technology and immersive experiences with premier live events, insightful studio shows, and compelling original programming.  If you’re interested in joining a fast-paced environment where you can leave a positive impact on the people that make this content come to life, this job opportunity is a unique one you will want to learn more about.  We are adding an HR Generalist to our Sports Division in Stamford, CT, equally contributing as a business partner and transactional project manager supporting initiatives for our teams.  The successful individual will be organized, accurate, and results-oriented, demonstrating an ability to navigate various systems while also building meaningful relationships across various teams.  The HR Generalist will have a primary focus around the Olympic Games, while serving as an HR business partner for various teams in partnership with Sports HR Leadership.

Responsibilities:

The HR Generalist will support the full range of Human Resources responsibilities, with guidance from HR Leadership, including:HR Operations: Will need to become an expert in managing our various systems, including our internal Sports Crewing system (SCORE), SAP, Timekeeper, etc.  Will be a key partner in driving hiring actions to onboard over 2000 employees supporting the Games. Staffing/Talent Acquisition:  Support the recruitment process from building inclusive job descriptions, interviewing, hiring to then facilitating the on-boarding process for new hiresPerformance Management & Talent Development: Work with leaders to establish an environment where employees can create and grow meaningful careers, identify opportunities for training and growth, acquire new skills, and advance. Organizational Development: Support and facilitate all phases of organizational changes including processing transactions in HR systems such as promotions, hires, terms, and org changes. Positive Employee Relations: Work with department leaders, and staff to establish and maintain a positive work environment which encourages the full use of talent and abilities.  Coach and counsel our employees and managers to resolve any concerns in a proactive, fair, and equitable manner.  Take initiative to spend time interfacing directly with employees to establish trust and credibility.Collaborative Partnerships: Liaise with our partners across various functions from HR (Benefits, HR Operations, Compensation, etc.) to Finance, Payroll, Legal, Operations, etc., to manage and resolve employee inquiries.International Sensibility: Partner with Immigration, Legal, and vendor partners to administer visas for individuals traveling in support of various international sporting events including Features/Profile Shoots & Remote Events.Adaptability, Flexibility, and Curiosity: Supporting any other special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Related Fields of Study3+ years relevant HR ExperienceProficient with Office & Windows programs, and HRIS systemsDemonstrates strong organizational skills with a results-oriented approach; comfortable handling multiple tasks and competing priorities  

Desired Characteristics:

Previous experience working in a highly matrixed organization a plusProject and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering resultsExperience supporting a global workforce including visa management & immigrationOutstanding employee relations skillset, including working in both non-union and union environmentsProven ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment; must demonstrate a sense of urgencyWorking knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations related to the Human Resource function (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.)Expresses a genuine curiosity in the businessExcellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and facilitation skillsSolid client-support orientation, and the ability to work effectively with professionalism at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated coaching/mentoring skills; results orientation; comfortable handling multiple tasks and competing prioritiesPrevious experience in media or entertainment industry

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
