Responsibilities What You'll Do Responsible for performing various electrical trade functions such as the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of medium voltage electric power systems (60/50Hz to include but not limited to Medium voltages to low voltages). Maintains electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution including generators and end line equipment. Performs operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to electrical distribution equipment and maintains the facility’s physical electrical distribution system in good condition. Key Responsibilities: Performs troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of distribution, power generation and fuel system equipment in accordance with project requirements. Experience preferred with Substations, generators and fuel systems. The technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Power generation equipment, electrical systems, and fuel systems in their assigned area while maintaining an acceptable level of productivity and communicating with the customers. Installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment. Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications. Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment. Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Inspects, maintains, and repairs high voltage primary and low voltage secondary power distribution systems, sub stations, transformers, circuit breakers, switches, fused disconnects insulators, grounding systems, power poles, above and underground systems, security, and street lighting. Diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Working knowledge of Exterior Secondary Power Distribution, Interior Secondary Power Distribution, Interior, Exterior, Perimeter and Area Lighting, Access Control System, Lightning Protection System, Grounding Systems. Knowledge of MIL Standards and DOD customers is required. Must have excellent communications skills. Experience with generator produced power and switching systems producing greater than 500v. Performs other duties and assignments as required. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required High school education or equivalent. Accredited professional trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship program. Certifications: Certified Journeyman Electrician preferred. 3M Navy certified preferred CAT Power generation and ISO CAT certified or equivalent preferred Experience: Minimum 4 years’ experience in Power Pro and Generator electrical systems operation, maintenance, and repair. 5-7 years’ work experience in the electrical wiring industry, which shall include planning, laying out, and installing electrical distribution systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC); experience must have been under the direct supervision of a qualifying electrician for a licensed electrical contractor. Electrical work experience shall include electrical installation in commercial and industrial categories and must include work with High Voltage systems. Shall qualify under the AAMDS’s 3M qualification program Preferred Experience Simplex fuel system knowledge and experience preferred EPA 608 and 609 certified Preferred Basic understanding of BAS and PCMS preferred Other Requirements: This position requires U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Skills: Skilled working in a team-oriented environment and able to demonstrate strong leadership skills at various levels of an organization. Must be skilled with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Power Point. Excellent writing skills. Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements Military experience and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
