The position aims to develop and execute genetic services to PIC Customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Participate in developing, enhancing and executing the following routine genetic services to PIC customers:Product performance forecasting through modelingCustom Line Improvement ProgramsPre- and post-sale Sire selection Dam-line dissemination within customer systems Routine reporting to customer and account teamsUnderstand customer goals and objectives; design product combinations and genetic service programs that meet those objectives, gain and retain customers and contribute to PIC’s margins.Develop training and support materials on PIC products and genetic programs; explain the benefits of new technologies and enhancements to PIC products and genetic programsRemain current in area of responsibility through establishing a network of industry and academic contacts, studying literature and attending scientific and industry meetings.Hold confidential all product and program proprietary knowledge. Basic Qualifications: (required)
PhD or MS in Animal Breeding and Genetics.Strong understanding of the technologies that are used to make genetic improvementSelection Index construction and Data Analysis skills for pedigreed data setsExcellent Computer Skills including SAS, and MS Office experienceMinimum 2 years of relevant experienceExcellent Interpersonal SkillsStrong Technical Presentation and Writing SkillsWillingness to travel and enter customers’ and partners’ farms
