Job DescriptionPerform high-throughput phenotyping in an organized and timely mannerPerform Cell Culture of Primary Cells and complete various Cell Based Assays independentlyPerform high-throughput sample testing in an organized and timely mannerMaintain excellent aseptic technique and ensure sterility/quality of cell culture and assay outcomesWork safely within BSL-2 laboratory environmentMaintain electronic laboratory notebooks, prepare precise technical report summaries, any necessary analysis and maintain appropriate documentation

Basic Laboratory management, multitasking, and experimental troubleshooting

QualificationsEducational background:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in scientific discipline with emphasis in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines with 1-3 years of hands on experienceTraining and experience with Cell Culture (Primary Cells, Mammalian Cell Culture, maintaining cell lines, etc)Working knowledge of and/or skills in cell biology/genetics field (pipetting, aseptic technique, preparing media, cell based assay work, nucleic acid isolation, library prep, cytokinetic assay, etc)Excellent attention to detailComfort working within a fast-paced lab environmentAbility to perform basic dilution and stoichiometric calculationsAbility to work independently with ambiguity and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

Attention to detail and good oral and written communication skills required

Additional Information

Position is full-time, on-site Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Kalamazoo, MI are encouraged to apply.
